Finalization of Compartment Assignments for Entries to the 36th AM Show

A briefing for firms participating in the 36th AM Show (September 17 - 20, 1998 at Tokyo International Exhibition Center -- "Tokyo Big Sight") was held on July 2, concurrent with a meeting for presentation of compartment assignments.
Chairman Masazo Kimura of the AM Show Organizing Committee stated in his address to the participants: "Although the number of applications for compartments was initially estimated at 1,250, the actual number was ultimately 1,301. Although this is slightly less than the number last year, it is quite acceptable considering the ongoing financial unrest and severe economic conditions. We have attempted to exercise leniency on overall regulation for the show, including mitigation of height restrictions for compartment walls, and approval of sales within compartments. We intend to make the AM Show a fruitful event for all participants." After Kimura's address, show participants received a detailed briefing by the show secretariat regarding changes introduced since the previous show, and on general "Instructions for Entry." Group leader Tai of the Public Relations and Advertising Working Group addressed the session with explanations of charity auctions. Tai requested the participants to contribute rare, valuable auction goods in order to actively promote the event in advertising, as the charity auction had received favorable attention in the previous show.
