| ■Policy Outline for the 36th AM Show Decided - Aiming for dramatic increase in visitors - The 36th Amusement Machine Show will be held for four days, from September 17 (Thurs.) to September 20 (Sun.) at the Tokyo International Exhibition Center (Tokyo Big Sight), in Ariake, Tokyo, the same venue as last year, according to a decision by the AM Show Executive Committee (Hayao Nakayama, Chairman). This show is hosted by the Japan Amusement Machinery Manufacturers Association (JAMMA) and the Japan Amusement Park Equipment Association (JAPEA), and as a comprehensive show of the Japanese amusement industry, a global leader in the field, it attracts many visitors from all over Japan and the world. Following this decision, the AM Show Organizing Committee (Masazo Kimura, Chairman) began planning a concrete program and drawing up a proposal for the show. On April 22, the second meeting of the AM Show Executive Committee was held. After considering the proposed program, the committee decided on an overall program and policy for the show. The policy for this year's AM Show seeks to provide an environment that will make it easier for overseas corporations to participate and to increase the number of visitors on the day open to the general public. The policy will (1) ease qualifications for overseas corporations that wish to set up booths by allowing participation according to the discretion of the Show Executive Committee chairman and Show Organizing Committee chairman; (2) relax regulations on decorations; (3) lower the admission fee to encourage women and family visitors, who are light users of amusement machines; and (4) lift the ban on sales activity by participant companies to give the show more of an event-like atmosphere. |
