AM Market Was 1.92 Trillion Yen in FY1998 |
With the cooperation of the All Nippon Amusement Machine Operators' Amusement Union (AOU; Shozo Irie, Chairman) and the Nihon Shopping Center Amusement Park Operators Association (NSA; Hiroshi Uchida, Chairman), JAMMA conducted its annual fact-finding survey on the FY1998 amusement industry, the sixth of such surveys so far. The survey was conducted in June and July 1999. It targeted 1,146 companies engaged in the manufacturing, sale, and operation of commercial-use amusement machines as well as makers of game machines for home use, and was expanded to include companies other than members of above associations. Data was compiled from the 352 companies that responded. In this survey, a separate category was established for music games due to their growing popularity.
Survey Results
Market scale of the amusement machine industry in FY1998 was 1.9199 trillion yen (a decrease of 1.8%over the previous year).
