The 37th AM Show Draws Over 50,000, Nearly the Same Last Year

The 37th AM Show brought together everything from amusement machines to peripheral equipment using the latest technology at Tokyo International Trade Fair Commission (Tokyo Big Sight) for four days from September 9 (Thurs.) to 12 (Sunday).
The show was hosted by the Japan Amusement Machinery Association (JAMMA) and the Japan Amusement Park and Equipment Association (JAPEA). Seventy-nine companies exhibited in 1,084 booths with featured 1,365 kinds of amusement machines (excluding component-related, panel exhibits, etc.), slightly down from last year. On the business days, visitors increased by about 1,700 over the previous show, but general visitors decreased by about 2,400. The show had a total of 50,254 visitors, nearly the same number as the year before. The Public days attracted a large number of families and women visitors, and although the show attained its objective of expanding light users, the decline in visitors is an issue that should be resolved for the next show. The show was marked by a wide variety of amusement machines, and those catering to a broad demand were the main trend.
