■Publicizing appeals of amusement through the 'game day'
The "game day" (November 23) which was established to appeal soundness and cultural performance of the amusement machine industry and deepen communications among regional societies greeted the fifth anniversary last year. The day was established by JAMMA together with the All Nippon Amusement Machine Operators' Union (AOU) and the Nippon Shopping Center Amusement Park Operators Association (NSA).

With the concept of "love aid with amusement" in last year too, it was intended to have people with less chance of utilizing amusement facilities become familiar with amusement machines. Events of great variety were held in many places by the nationwide prefectural associations and regional councils of the AOU.

Delivery services of games and amusement were carried out for social welfare facilities, nursing facilities, welfare centers for aged persons, and facilities for intellectually handicapped persons in different districts. Such events were also held as free invitation to amusement parks, presentation of used game machines and stuffed toys and dolls, and installation of free-use game machines at shops of the association members. The above three organizations will hold the "game day" events also in the future and make further efforts so that the soundness and enjoyment of the industry will receive wide recognition.
