JAMMA Hold 12th Regular General Meeting; Mr. Kakihara Reappointed
Japan Amusement Machine Association (JAMMA) held its 12th General Meeting on May 23 at Hotel Okura in Tokyo. Mr. Yoshihito Kakihara, President, gave an address before the proceedings. He stated that the association would offer new play possibilities through networks, "The rapid growth of networks has stimulated the start-up of new businesses and necessitates drastic changes in the structure of industry. This year, we would like to create a new business model called the JAMMA Network Concept that will link amusement centers. We would also like to strengthen the operations of the association to bring the entire industry in closer cooperation."

The address was followed by the proceedings in which the business and financial reports for fiscal year 1999 were unanimously approved as originally proposed. The business plan and tentative budget for FY2000 were then deliberated, and these were also unanimously approved as originally proposed. The business plan is based on that of the previous year with the addition of technical seminars on the Electrical Goods Safety Law and JAMMA video standards. In accordance with the Articles of Association (Election of Directors) regarding the election of directors when a vacancy occurs before the general meeting, the two elected directors were approved unanimously.

In the reelection of directors that followed, Mr. Yoshihito Kakihara was reelected President. Mr. Kenzo Tsujimoto, Vice-President, resigned from office and Mr. Hajime Satomi was elected new Vice-President. In addition, three directors were newly elected. The election of the board of directors marked the start of JAMMA's activities for FY2000.
