Speaks of His Plans for AM Show
The 39th AM Show will be held September 20 - 22, this year, at Tokyo Big Sight under the cosponsor ship of JAMMA and JAPEA(Japan Amusement Park Equipment Association). As in last year, the first and second days will be business days and only the third day will be open to the general public, to make the show primarily an event for business opportunities.

"Full of Energy for Brighter Tomorrow"

With less than two months left before the opening of the show, Chairman Tsuchita Goka of the AM Show Organizing Committee spoke of his ambitious plans for the show. Main points of his statement follow:

* Japan's economic slowdown is showing the signs of
further aggravation. Under such circumstances, however, a total of 56 member companies of JAMMA and JAPEA have applied for 941 booths in the show. And we, the members of the Organizing Committee, are determined to make the show an event full of energy to bring about a brighter tomorrow, to the satisfaction of the exhibitors and visitors.

"Floor Layout and Flow Planning Designed to Attract Visitors to All Booths"

* A total of 40~50 booths for business talks Will be set up in the show area, at the left and right sides of the area in the back. Exhibitors can use the booths for business talks and exchange of information for a set period of time.
* The biggest problem for the Organizing Committee is to make the show a success for all participants. To attain the goal, we haveadopted a new type of floor layout to arrange booths in bilateral symmetry to secure a smooth flow of visitors throughout the show area. A stamp rally Will be used also to secure a smooth flow of the people, with rally points positioned strategically.
* Exhibitors of the AM show this year are restricted to the members of JAMMA and JAPEA. The Ah show, however, should not remain a domestic event but become an exhibition of international nature. Many problems may arise from admission of foreign exhibitors to the show, but, to exclude them for such a reason is feared to have bad influences on our industry in the years to come. To avoid such an outcome and for the growth of the AM industry, law-abidingforeign enterprises should be welcomed to the show.
