| In the absence of big hits like last year's music game machines, the exhibits in the Show this year represented a wide, well-balanced range of categories that can satisfy the demand of a great variety of users. Especially impressive were new medal game machines and prize game machines which can handle large-size prizes, both categories intended for light users such as women, children and families. In the field of technological innovation, the high-tech machines showed the exhibitors' strong Will and efforts for development of such techniques as CG, VR and 3-D Sound to give players more realistic senses and stress the difference from console game machines. On the other hand, game machines that have sophisticated contents and yet can be handled easily by women, children and the aged also attracted the attention of visitors, indicating marked progress in the development of electromechanical techniques (combination of electronics and mechanics). |
