| The "Survey on Game Center Users" was conducted as one of the activities of Fiscal 2001 "Gme's Day" and the answers to the questionnaire were compiled by AOU (Amusement Machine Operators' Union) and the results were reported to the parties concerned. Here in this journal, those items closely related with JAMMA are selected and introduced. | 1. What is your pupose of goig to game centers? |
![]() Answers of "To play games" and "To get prizes," when combined in a category of game playing, account for 56.4%. This is a big increase from 40.4% of the previous survey. |
| 2. With whom do you usually go to game centers? |
![]() "With family" and "With friends," when added together,occupy nearly one half of the total, indicating that the game centers are increasingly utilized as places for communication. |
| 3. How many times do you go to game centers in one month and on the average? |
![]() More than 60% of the respondents go to game centers one to five times a month. Heavy users who go to the centers 16 times or more in one month, or one time or more in two days, account for 13.9% of the total.. |
| 4. How much do you spend for one time? |
The majority spends ¥1,000 or less for one time. In the categories of school children and students of junior and senior high school, 70% spend \1,000 or less. |

About one fourth of the respondents like video games, making this category of games most popular. Medal games and crane games follow video games in that order in popularity ranking. |

(This question is asked only to those who replied that they like video games. Plural answers accepted.)![]() Fighting games are again and unquestionably the most favored. Those games are mosrt favored (in the case of males) among school children, students of high schools and universities and part-times and (in the case of females) among school children, students of universities and other schools, part-timers and self-employed persons. |
