| The Japan Amusement Machinery Manufacturers Association (JAMMA) held its 14th regular general meeting from 4 p.m., May 23 (Thursday), 2002, at the 'Atlantic Room' on the 1st Floor of Hotel Ohkura, Toranomon, Minato-ku, Tokyo. Three officials from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry attended the meeting as guests; they were : Mr. Nobuhiko Sasaki, Director ;Mr. Hideaki Ibuki, Deputy Director and Mr.takashi Matumoto, Assistant Director; all of the Industrial Machinery Division of the Ministry's Manufacturing Industries Bureau. In his address made before the start of the agenda, President Yoshihito Kakihara referred to the stringent conditions facing the industry and indicated there still is the room of development for the industry, saying: "since becoming a member of this business, I have witnessed many vicissitudes of the amusement centers. Large-scale transformetions of the business have been triggered by the emergence of new, high-quality machinery made possible by creative ideas of the younger people. And I believe we are now in the midst of transition toward another such trasformation." At the beginning of the agenda, Fiscal 2001 reports on business and settlement of accounts were presented and approved unanimously as originally presented. Then the selection of directors as stipulated in the Articles of Association and Fiscal 2002 business plans and budget were discussed and approved unanimously. Selsction of 18 officials and managers, including 4 new directors was then taken up and also approved unianimously. The meeting then agreed upon the selection of 2 new vice presidents and JAMMA made the first step in Fiscal 2002 toward the prosperous future of the industry. |
